Glimpse of Sophia V. 11

Summer!! Where are you??

I honestly cannot wait until this school year is done and I can relax!

Sick

I got a really bad cold over the weekend that soon turned into a very high fever. I stayed in bed for most of last weekend as I could and one school day. I never really realized how much getting sick makes you go so much slower until I came to high school. But at least I got to catch up on my favorite shows (OBSESSED with Brooklyn 99) and some soup!

College Trip

(CAN WE TALK ABOUT THIS CEILING IN THE UCLA LIBRARY??)

If you follow me on Instagram, you saw that yesterday I visited UCLA & LMU with my AVID class. Both were not my first visits there, but they were both good refreshers on me really narrowing down what i'm looking for in a college. But it was a beautiful day on both campuses, which is something that we have really be hoping for here in So Cal!

AP's & Finals

How is that I only have a full month of school left?! I feel like it was literally 5 minutes ago that I was walking to my first day as a freshman. AP's are starting next week, and I have been non stop reviewing for them. I feel very prepared for my english one but not so much for my art history! Honestly, I just cant wait to get through this week and back to a normal blogging schedule. :)

Glimpse of Sophia V.10

Happy Friday!! This week went by incredibly fast (Good & Bad way) This week has been very hectic with the school play and such, but next week should be back to normal when it comes to Glimpse's of Sophia!

School Play

As most of you know, I'm in my school's production of Joseph and the Technicolor Dream Coat. This  show is definitely one of my favorites and loads of fun to be in. I'm one of the costumer's for the show which has been a ton of hard work and time. But what the sad part is that we have to stay at school until 10 o'clock at night due to tech rehearsals, which has been incredibly draining. But this show has been the most productive when it comes to working on homework during the time allowed, so if you have noticed more blog post's have been going up!

College, College, College

This is definitely something that has been on my mind all week. I'm starting to really look into programs and even creating my list of schools in which I will apply to next year. This has been a fun yet stressful time. But I do have to say it's been fun trying to think that this time next year I will know when I'm going to be staying for the next 4 years! I'll most definitely take y'all on the college admissions road with me, but I definitely have some fun projects planned for when I'm an official second semester senior!

Upcoming Post's

With spring break last week, I was definitely able to sit down and work on much more posts and I have May & June planned out!! Stay tuned! :)

Summer Excitement

I have been wanting to write all about my summer plans for the longest time now, but I haven't been 100% on my plans due to family schedules and such. I have a few other trips that might happen, but I am so excited to say that I will be going to Seattle and Alaska in the first week of August to go on an Alaskan Cruise! I'm going with a few of my family members and I honestly could not be more excited! We have most of our destinations in Seattle chosen but if you have any recommendations please let me know. During the trip I'm planning on sharing my experience with a day to day post's or just an overall recap!

Where are you heading to this summer?

Prom Dress Picks

Prom season is here!!

To be honest, I personally love prom way more than formal. I feel like there are way more options with color, shape, and the styles with all of the new trends! And usually formal can be more dark colors since it's in the winter (at least for us) and prom is always in the spring! I have been eyeing a couple of dresses from this years collections and I thought they were perfect to share with y'all!

First - Second - Third - Fourth - Fifth (Top & Skirt) - Sixth

Recent Skin Care Favorites

Ever since my birthday, I have become a huge skin care fanatic. I have been loving my Clarisonic Mia, and I haven't had better skin ever! Before using all of the products that I have now and the tools, my skin would go back and forth with being oily or having incredibly dry textures. Now I can safely say that it's regulated and it's all thanks to my new routine! I switch it up when night and day, but I would love to hear what products you use in the comments section!

Morning:

First Aid Beauty Face Cleanser - I have heard nothing but good things when it comes to this brand, so when it came time for me to get a new regular cleanser I decided to try it out! I have been loving how soft and clear it has been leaving my skin after a wash. The consistency makes it so you only need a little bit of it to work a long way.

Benefit Triple Preforming Facial Emulsion - Thank you to the amazing ladies at the makeup counters at Macys for showing me this! I absolutely LOVE the smell of it after I put it on, and it leaves my face looking sooo good after! I do have to say that spending a couple of bucks on it, I do wish that the bottle was a little bit bigger, but it will have to do.

Clarisonic Mia - I have been wanting to get a Clarisonic for a couple of years now ever since my best friend got hers and loved it. But I was lucky enough to have my amazing aunt buy it for me and I don't think I should go back to washing my face just with my hand! It goes so deep into my pores and makes a huge difference on how my skin looks the next day.

Night:

Olay Bead Me Up Exfoliating Cleanser - I was a little bit unsure on what type of face wash I should use when it came to the end of the day. But thankfully my eyebrow lady helped me with this and told me that I should try one of the Olay exfoliators when it came to that. Ever since, I have been obsessed with how much it has really opened up my pores and left me with much less breakouts.

Clean and Clear Night-Time Deep Relaxing Face Wash - I switch off from the Olay Exfoliator and this Cleanser. I like how this cleanser is specifically towards night time and it purposefully to help you feel more relaxed. I do have to say that it doesn't leave my skin as good as the other one does, but I do recommend switching it out with an exfoliator every other night if you have pretty normal skin.

Clean and Clear Moisturizer - This is one product that I am still on the fence about, but I have been using for years. I absolutely love the smell but

Bath and Body Works Night Time Chapstick - Are your lips constantly chapped when you go to bed? Then this is your go-to item! I bought this mini night time chapstick and I have never been able to not use it at night. It leaves your lips perfectly smooth when you go to bed, and when you wake up they aren't cracked & chapped! (Perfect for the cold winters!)

Glimpse of Sophia V.9

So many fun things have happened in the past two weeks! This past week I have been on spring break, so I definitely had more time to work on blogging and start studying for AP's & ACT. I was able to post these two blog post's this week, but I have tons in store for the rest of the month. I'm also back into the Spring Play grind, which basically means that I stay at school during dress rehearsal and tech week until 9 or 10 o'clock at night. Usually, I don't have time to post blog posts at these times, but this year I'm able to have some drafted and ready to go for next week, so be on the lookout for that!

Spring Cleaning

I wrote a post on Monday about my tips on Spring cleaning and how to tackle it. On that same day, I actually completely deep cleaned my room. This has changed the entire atmosphere and look to my room because I was able to open it up and make it feel less cramped. I'm still debating if I want to do room tour pictures, but if you are interested comment down bellow!

Workouts

I have been really hitting the gym and at-home workouts a lot this past week, surprisingly even with this cold and gloomy weather. I tried to really focus on working out this week since I don't get a lot of time because of school. But what has really helped me focus on what I want to work on was creating my own workout schedule. I did this by using Blogalaties Monthly Workouts and adding and taking out things that I was to improve. I found these Blogalaties workouts on Pinterest and combined them together to make one huge workout! I highly recommend doing this because it really makes it easier to track.

Productivity

This whole week I have been really killing it on my to-do lists. On one of the days, I was lucky enough to knock out all of my items on my list and had to reward myself! I never usually complete everything on my list, which is a good and a bad thing. This time, I rewarded myself with a new computer sleeve from Typo. The one I bought can't be boughten online, but here is one that I think is also really cute!I think that this definitely pushed me and made me proud that I can have a productive day!

What were you up to this week?

Dreaming of Warm Weather

Happy Wednesday!

This 60-degree weather needs to go! I honestly can not wait until the real spring time comes forward and I can break out my Chino Shorts and tank tops. I have been eyeing a couple of pieces just so I would be prepared for this day to come. I'm really looking to brighten up my closet. I both sold and gave away a lot of clothes after deep cleaning my room, so I'm definitely open to the latest trends and colors. Go ahead and check out down bellow to shop my recent spring wants!

Spring Cleaning

Today is finally the first day of Spring Break for me! As much as I hope for it to be spent by the beach or heading downtown, I'm deep cleaning my room. I know this might not be the most desired thing to do, but this has been a major thing on my to-do list for quite some time. I usually do this every year and I have basically created it into a routine of it! With doing it a lot, I have a couple of tips that might help anyone out when trying to be productive on your spring cleaning.

Make a list of what needs to get done

I usually do this around a week before the day I'm going to do it. I basically brainstorm what I need to clean out and what I want to re-arrange and stuff. This also helps me get an idea of what I want things to look like by the end of the day. It also ends up creating it to be a better and easier way when on a time crunch of some sort.

Grab a friend!

I usually never have people help me when I clean, but this year I have to be done at a certain time. Thus I thought it would be a good idea to invite two of my friends! This creates a (kinda fun) time where we can catch up on talking and basically cut down the cleaning time by a lot.

Play Music, Not Netflix

This has been a really big problem for me when cleaning. I end up putting on my favorite TV show from Netflix of Hulu and it ends up taking over 40 minutes extra just because I am distracted. What I like to do is put on my recent Spotify playlist on my iHome. This helps when getting me off my phone and being distracted. Plus it charges it at the same time!

What are your favorite tips when doing your Spring Cleaning?
